What decisions are you making without the full picture?
Every day, local authorities make decisions that shape outcomes, services and spending for years to come.
Yet many of those decisions are made without a complete picture of what's happening across the wider population.
The information exists - it's sitting within assessments, funding decisions, reviews, and case records created every day by practitioners across SEND and Adult Social Care. But seeing the bigger picture has never been easy.
Turning everyday data information into meaningful insight
That's why we're developing Insight Toolkit. A new capability designed to help local authorities move beyond individual records and build a clearer understanding of need, demand, variation, and future pressure across their population.
By analysing the information councils already hold, Insight Toolkit helps reveal the patterns, trends, and opportunities that are often hidden within day-to-day activity.
- Were is demand changing?
- Where is spend increasing?
- Where could future pressure emerge?
- What actions should be considered now?
This is more than reporting. It's about helping local authorities make better-informed decisions with greater confidence.
Insight for SEND and Adult Social Care
For SEND teams, that means understanding how spend is shifting across bands and settings, which schools are absorbing the most resource, where budget overrides are clustering, and what demand looks like over the next 12 months.
For Adult Social Care teams, it means seeing care cost trends, identifying where you can target preventative intervention, and forecasting residential and nursing placement demand before it catches you short.
Looking ahead: Connecting SEND and Adult Social Care
And we're only just getting started. For the first time, we're exploring something uniquely possible at Imosphere: connecting insight across both SEND and Adult Social Care.
As young people with EHCPs move towards adulthood, the information supporting transition planning should not sit in separate worlds. Adult services should be able to understand projected demand earlier and prepare accordingly, while the professionals supporting young people can focus on building independence in the areas that matter most.
We don't know exactly what that future looks like yet, but we believe there's an opportunity to create a more connected understanding of need across the whole journey.
Help shape what comes next
To help shape that future, we're looking for a small number of local authorities to join our partner programme.
Partner local authorities will receive early access to Insight Toolkit, help influence future development priorities, and work directly with the Imosphere team to ensure the product reflects the realities of local government decision-making.
